Lampard secured a 2-1 win with that second goal, a tap-in in the 88th minute, breaking Bobby Tambling's all-time goal scoring record of 202.

NBC has opted to cancel Smash, the Broadway musical drama starring Debra Messing, Katherine McPhee and Megan Hilty. Though it was once NBC's new darling, the drama sank in popularity in Season 2, going sub-1.0 in the ratings and facing ridicule from critics. After a bleak return to NBC's 2012-13 season schedule, the show's cancelation has been prophesied for some time. The show was bumped to Saturdays in March, where rankings sank below a 0.5.NBC entertainment chairman, Bob Greenblatt, brought Smash with him from his former post at Showtime. Greenblatt envisioned elements of a Broadway musical in primetime - plus original songs by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman.

George Sauer dies: Former New York Jets Receiver Passes Away in Ohio at 69 After Suffering Alzheimer's Disease

George Sauer Jr., a former wide receiver for the New York Jets, died May 7 in Westerville, Ohio, at the age of 69.He died of Alzheimer's disease, said his sister, Dana Keifer.Sauer was a wide receiver for the Jets when they beat the Baltimore Colts in 1969. Sauer caught eight passes from quarterback Joe Namath during the Super Bowl after Don Maynard was injured. The underdog Jets beat the Colts 16-7.Sauer was a four-time All-Star in the American Football League. He played in the AFL and National Football League for the Jets from 1965 through 1970.
