Robin Roberts announced on Monday, Aug. 27 during a live telecast on "Good Morning America" that Friday, Aug, 31 will be her last day on air. Roberts, 51, made the announcement about her upcoming medical leave while sitting alongside her co-anchor George Stephanopolous. She will check into a hospital next Tuesday, Sept.4 to "begin the process." The process she is referring to is undergoing a bone marrow transplant. Roberts was diagnosed with blood and bone marrow disease myelodysplastic syndrome, also known as "MDS". Her donor is her sister, who is also a news anchor who turned out to be a "perfect match," said Roberts.

When Olympic gymnast Gabby Douglas sat down with Oprah Winfrey on "Oprah's Next Chapter," on Sunday, Aug. 26, the two had plenty to discuss about the athlete's past and her struggle to prepare herself for the Olympics.One of the biggest revelations to come out of the chat was that Douglas was often bullied by her team mates at swim practice in Virginia.The 16-year-old acknowledged that when she made headlines during the London Games for her hair style, it wasn't the first time she dealt with criticism. She admits that in Virginia, at teh age of fourteen, she felt lonely at times when she was being treated "different" than her colleagues. She told the story of when another gymnast referred to her as their "slave."

Rihanna was photographed on a date with Rob Kardashian, on Saturday, August 25. The "S&M" singer hung out with the reality star at Racer's Edge Indoor Karting in Burbank, Calif. Rihanna, 24, beat the "Keeping Up With Kardashians" star in a friendly go-kart race around the track. The 25-year-old later took his date to the Playhouse club in Hollywood.
