'The Mentalist' Season 6 Spoilers: Is Red John Back In The Picture? Recent Comment Sparks Questions As FBI Team Heads Undercover [VIDEO]
The Mentalist team is heading undercover, and this time Kim Fischer won't be alone.
The last time fans of the CBS drama saw a member of the new FBI team assume a different identity, Agent Kim Fisher (Emily Swallow) was gathering intel on the Patrick Jane (Simon Baker) in "My Blue Heaven" (see video below). Now, however, the Agent Lisbon (Robin Tunney), Agent Abbott (Rockmond Dunbar), Agent Cho (Tim Kang) and Jane will all be participating as they try to solve an art theft in "Violets."
Penned by Jordan Harper ("The Great Red Dragon"), the episode is set to air directly after Wayne Rigsby (Owain Yeoman) and Grace Van Pelt's (Amanda Righetti) series departure in "White as the Driven Snow." Although The Mentalist storyline will be fully integrated into the post-Red John world by time "Violets" rolls around, a recent tweet from Harper lead some fans to believe the notorious serial killer was going to somehow return.
"Today was shotguns, Tarzana mansions and watching [Emily Swallow] deliver as 'the Face,'" Harper wrote after filming on Friday, causing some to believe he was referring to the Red John trademark smiley face.
He was not, however, hinting that Red John's legacy is coming to haunt Jane once more.
"FYI: "The Face" is a con artist term. Be chill, #TheMentalist folks," Harper told his followers explaining that he was merely referring to the person in a con who distracts or encourages the mark.
Meanwhile, Swallow also took to Twitter to explain the comment.
"We've got nervous fans...to clarify: I'm "the Face" of Jane's ruse in this ep, but EVERYONE is involved a LOT! Don't worry!" the series newbie said.
The Mentalist airs Sundays at 10 p.m. ET.
