The competition is fierce and doesn't seem to include too many weaker teams on season 25 of The Amazing Race, but a surprising elimination could happen when the teams wind up in Scotland.

Dennis & Isabelle Hint A Return In A 'SuperFan' Season

Boston Firefighters Michael Ward and Scott Strazzullo haven't had the greatest luck thus far in the race, placing 10th in the first leg and 6th in the second, and it doesn't appear as if their luck will improve on the show's Oct. 10 episode, Get Your Sheep Together.

In a preview clip for the episode, Strazzullo appears to be suffering from a severe ankle injury-one that could cost him and Ward the ability to continue in the race.

Teams Encounter 'Totally Shocking' Tasks In England

"Jogging is awesome, but imagine running the most important race of your life on a bum ankle," the clip teases as it shows Strazzullo struggle through the tasks, and shock his fellow racers by the condition he's in.

"His ankle is not the right color," Whitney Duncan says in the clip as she gets a view of his ankle, which appears to have turned purple from his injury.

It is unclear if the ankle injury will in fact cost the firefighters the race.

Meanwhile, the other teams will also encounter some struggles, as their trip to Scotland appears to involve a task with some Shetland Ponies who wind up being anything but cute-and even seem to act possessed, tossing their heads and jumping around as teams including Adam and Bethany, Shelley and Nici, and Misti and Jim try to control the animals during a task.

In fact, the ponies get so out of control, that Jim will even give one of them an interesting nickname.

"Come on Satan," he says to a pony in the clip.

The Amazing Race airs Fridays at 8 p.m. on CBS.
