Kate Middleton Pregnant: Discharged from Hospital After Acute Morning Sickness [Photo]
Kate Middleton was released from hospital after being treated for severe morning sickness.
The pregnant Duchess of Cambridge left the King Edward VII hospital on Thursday with husband Prince William.
Middleton was troubled by acute morning sickness that caused her to be hospitalized on Monday, according to the New York Daily News.
The 30-year-old royal lady was treated for Hyperemesis Gravidarum, which caused severe nausea and vomiting. Doctors were forced to replenish her nutrients and supplement her hydration until she was healthy enough to leave.
Prince William and his wife departed the central London hospital in a hurry without talking to eager reporters standing by to hear the latest on the duchess' condition. The royal couple departed most likely to Kensington Palace where Middleton will recuperate for the time being.
The due date for the royal baby has yet to be officially announced, but a spokesperson for the Royal family confirmed that Middleton is less than 12 weeks into her pregnancy.
"She is feeling better but now requires a period of rest," a royal spokesperson said in a statement. "Their royal highnesses would like to thank the staff at the hospital for the care and treatment the duchess has received."
The pregnancy announcement that was forced by the royal family as the morning sickness became too severe to hide from the public came as a surprise to the media.
New legislation is currently being passed so that the unborn child will be third-in-line to the throne no matter its gender. The historic law of succession ruled that males came before female siblings in the line for the throne.
Prince William is second-in-line to the throne of the United Kingdom after his father Charles.
Since the news of the soon-to-be royal child spread, leaders from around the world have sent their congratulations including U.S. President Barack Obama.
The prince wed Middleton in April last year.
