Robin Williams Suicide: Sarah Michelle Gellar Honors 'The Crazy Ones' Co-Star 1 Year After Beloved Actor's Death

Williams was found dead on this day, Aug. 11, last year, leaving his millions of fans in mourning. The beloved actor had committed suicide by hanging himself after battling severe depression, Parkinson's disease and a form of dementia.
One of Williams' final roles before his death was CBS's The Crazy Ones, the actor's big television comeback. Gellar, who also starred in the sitcom, developed a special relationship with Williams that she still cherishes to this day.

To honor the anniversary of his death, Gellar posted a tribute on her Instagram page. In the post, she quoted the poet Ralph Waldo Emerson:
"'To laugh often and much; to win the respect of the intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the beauty in others; to leave the world a bit better wether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that one life has breathed easier because you lived here. This is to have succeeded' #Emerson," she quoted. "You succeeded RW #RobinWilliams".

The photo shows the quote "Sorry guys, I went to see about a girl" along with "Your move, chief", both quotes from Williams' 1997's Good Will Hunting, the movie that won him an Oscar.
Williams was 63 when he died, but his legacy will continue to live on through many generations to come.
