Simon Cowell Is Recovering Following An Accident Earlier This Morning
X-Factor judge Simon Cowell is reportedly recovering from an accident that occurred this morning.
Cowell, 58, was rushed to the hospital early this morning after he fell down the stairs in his London home.
According to E news, he was seen in a stretcher around 8am, with a brace around his neck.
"It's been a scary morning. It was very early and Simon was going down his stairs to get some hot milk because he couldn't sleep. He fainted and is thought to have fallen down the stairs," a source reported to the Sun. Reports state that he has undergone a CT scan and does not appear to have any serious injuries. He is said to be home from the hospital and is resting.
Simon shares his London home with his partner Lauren Silverman who is currently on her way back to London from New York. The two share a son together, Eric.
The X-Factor season 14 premiere is scheduled to air tomorrow, but it is unknown if Cowell will be able to attend as of yet. Cowell has experienced health issues in the past due to workaholic lifestyle. He collapsed from nervous exhaustion and in 2012, admitted that he was "paralysed with tiredness" and his "immune system was failing".
Simon was a former judge on the U.S. reality T.V. show, American Idol. Known for his harsh criticism and little empathy towards the contestants, Cowell was disliked and also feared by everyone who auditioned. Simon made a special guest appearance during the series final of 'Idol'. Simon was voted by Time Magazine as one of the 'most influential people in the world' in 2004 and 2010. In 2013, TV Guide ranked his as number 10 on its 60 Most Nastiest People of All Time list.
His mother, Julie, passed away in 2015 and his father died in 1999. It's been stated that since his mother's death, Simon has been attempting to take better care of himself, scheduling test at least twice a year to ensure his in tiptop shape. His biographer, Tom Bower, revealed that Cowell was warned to quit smoking and to give his body a break by doctors.
