Missing Utah Mom: Photos Discovered On Father-In-Law's Computer
While a mom in Utah remains missing, police have found thousands of her photos on her father-in-law's computer.
Susan Powell remains missing since her 2009 disappearance and is presumed dead. Her husband, Josh Powell, was thought to have been responsible for her disappearance, but was not charged as authorities were unable to prove he was linked.
In May this year, Josh Powell murdered his two sons with a hatchet and killed himself in a devastating home fire.
Now thousands of photos found on the computer of Susan's father-in-law, Steven Powell, have been found and released to the public.
Steven Powell was arrested for voyeurism charges. He was imprisoned earlier this year after being found guilty of illegally watching and taking pictures of women. The father-in-law is also believed to be a possible accessory in the crimes related to her disappearance.
Around 4,500 photos were discovered on Mr. Powell's hard drive with some said to be sexually suggestive, according to Fox News. Police are investigating the father-in-laws attraction to Susan Powell, but he has remained uncooperative since his arrest. None of the photos apparently show the woman naked, but many were taken of her in suggestive positions such as bending over and in the bathroom.
Police also discovered journals written by the father-in-law that talk about his obsession with watching Susan and the ways in which he followed her.
Anne Bremner, an attorney who represents Susan Powell's parents, commented on the images and the father-in-law's attraction to the missing woman saying: "When you look at those pictures, it's clearly surreptitious. It's clearly obsessive."
The whole ordeal has left a scar on the surviving Powell family members who apparently went through a deeply troubled time after Susan's disappearance and do not believe that Josh was responsible for the deaths.
According to the Inquisitr, relative Alina Powell talked about the family after the housefire with unknown suspects still being blamed for the incident: "Josh and his boys spent more than two years being crushed alive by hate, harassment, and abuse. None of us could have anticipated the devastating tragedy that took place Sunday, but what this unimaginable loss shows is that hate will never end well. Hate kills."
