Serena Imitated By Caroline Wozniacki? Stuffs Bra & Skirt With Towels [VIDEO]
In a match against Maria Sharapova this weekend, tennis player Caroline Wozniacki imitated the looks of Serena Williams by stuffing her bra and skirt with towels and prancing around the court, video footage revealed.
The Danish player tried to play with the towels stuffed under her clothes and got competitor Sharapova to look confused for a second. The crowd, including onlooker Roger Federer, laughed at the sight and whistled at Wozniacki's imitation of the WTA Player of the Year.
Wozniacki has imitated Williams before on the court. A Youtube video, posted in 2011, showed the player dancing in front of the crowds with towels stuffed in her shirt and skirt to a Rihanna song at a match in Slovakia last year. Other players have tried to impersonate Williams as well. Retired tennis player Andy Roddick did it during an exhibition match in Toronto in November by stuffing the back of his pants with towels. The crowd laughed loudly and the broadcaster played along by saying on the speakerphone "Serena Williams to serve." He also faked a tantrum like those that Williams is somewhat known for.
Novak Djokovic did the same earlier this year, filling his shirt with towels to make it appear like he had big breasts. The broadcaster again played along and announced Williams was on the court serving.
Williams has not publicly addressed the imitations and whether or not it offends her but she did discuss body types for female American-American women in September, according to CBS News. She said she did not agree with the U.S. Tennis Association's decision to hold Taylor Townsend, 16, out of competition over concerns about her fitness.
"Everyone deserves to play," Williams said. "For a female, particularly, in the United States, in particular, and African-American, to have to deal with that is unnecessary. ... Women athletes come in all different sizes and shapes and colors and everything."
