What began as a Pennsylvania man's tantrum over a hamburger resulted in criminal charges after her assaulted an employee at McDonald's.

A criminal complaint was filed against Sean Varone on Tuesday for an incident that took place last month in the parking lot of a fast food chain.

The 35-year-old resident of Oak Lake, Penn., went to a Springettsbury Township McDonalds on Nov. 30 and ordered a hamburger. He then reportedly yelled at an employee at the fast food chain for adding cheese to his burger, which was not how he ordered his meal, according to The York Dispatch.

Varone caused a scene in the middle of the McDonald's by allegedly knocking over a trash bin and throwing a highchair before exiting the restaurant.

The workers at the fast food chain wanted to alert the authorities and tried to get any information they could to identify the man. One of the employees went outside to try and write down the license plate number of Varone's vehicle. The complaint against Varone stated that he assaulted the employee, who name was not released, after seeing the worker attempt to call the police and report him.

The criminal complaint said Varone physically restrained the McDonald's employee by wrapping his arms around the worker and hurting her. Varone then took the employee's phone and tossed the device across the parking lot before fleeing the scene. He was later found by local authorities on an unspecified date.

Varone was charged with disorderly conduct, criminal mischief and assault. The Springettsbury Township Police Department said the McDonald's worker suffered minor injuries.

The Associated Press stated that it is currently unknown if Varone has an attorney. Court dates have yet to be scheduled for the informal arraignment and Varone's preliminary hearing.
