Janis Joplin’s Porsche Is For Sale, Johnny Depp Honors Wes Craven and more
Wednesday, Wednesday, Wednesday. The day of the week that haunts all our dreams. Here's your Enstars Rundown to get you through it, kids.
Oh Lord, won't you buy me...Janis Joplin's Porsche. The iconic 60s singer's 1965 Porsches 356c 1600 Cabriolet with a psychedelic paintjob will be auctioned off at Sotheby's in New York this December. The car was driven by Joplin's manager after her death from a heroin overdoes in 1970, then restored and put on display in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in the 90s. It's set to hit the auction block on December 10.

Listen to This: Fab Morvan, one half of the infamous lib syncing duo Milli Vanilli tells his side of the 90s hit group (which turned out not to be fake) on the storytelling podcast The Moth. The segment, which is a timeless tale of fame and shame, was recorded years ago, but was recently uploaded to the site.
Congrats, humanity. You're awful. A series of new reports by the World Wildlife Fund and the Zoological Society of London found that more than 1,200 ocean species declined by 49 percent between 1970 and 2012 AND Tuna and Mackerel have be decimated by nearly 75 percent.
Ugh. It looks like some Republicans in Congress are trying to engineer another government shutdown.
According to a new report by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, 1/3 of U.S. kids and teens eat pizza or fast food every day, which is about the same rate that American youth was pigging out in the '90s. As one of the report's authors was quoted in The New York Times, "At least we're not seeing it go up."
Quote of the Day: "Wes Craven was the guy who gave me my start, from my perspective, for almost no reason in particular....I read scenes with his daughter when I auditioned for the part. At the time, I was a musician. I wasn't really acting. It was not anything very near to my brain or my heart, which is pretty much how it remains to this day...But Wes Craven was brave enough to give me the gig based on his daughter's opinion. I guess she had read with a bunch of actors, and after the casting sessions, she said, 'No, that's the guy.' I always think of her for putting me in this mess, and certainly Wes Craven for being very brave to give me this gig. But he was a good man - so rest in peace, old Wes."
- Johnny Depp at a press conference for his new film Black Mass, when asked about horror auteur Wes Craven, who gave Depp his first role in the horror classic Nightmare on Elm Street and passed away last month.
Facebook may be working on a dislike button. MAYBE. It probably won't be a negative response to posts and in some other iteration. BUT Zuckerberg says they're working on it.
NBC is reportedly working on a 80s classic mystery show, Hart to Hart, about a wealthy married couple that solves murders...but with a gay couple.
Jeff Smisek may not be a name you recognize, but you're familiar with his work. He was until last week the CEO for United Airline, when he was forced to step due to a federal corruption probe. Don't worry though, he's walking away with $21 million in cash and stock, the ability to fly free FOR LIFE, and gets to keep his company car.
