Mark Zuckerberg's sister Randi Zuckerberg photo of a family gathering was distributed to thousands of people online by mistake. Apparently Randi posted the photo to her personal Facebook but it was spread to nearly 40,000 people making her upset.

At this point it remains unclear whether it was a breach of privacy issue. Randi Zuckerberg reportedly posted a picture to her personal Facebook showing her family -including Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg- reacting to the new Facebook app "Poke" released last week which has drawn negative criticism for allegedly being a "copycat" of a previous app called Snapchat.

A Twitter user named Callie Schweitzer, who works at Vox Media Inc. according to her profile, re-tweeted the photo to her more than 39,000 followers on Tuesday. But she deleted the post after Randi complained.

According to various screen captures posted online Wednesday, Schweitzer tweeted the picture to all of her followers and later apologized.

"@randizuckerberg demonstrates her family's response to Poke," Schweitzer reportedly wrote in a post with the photo.

Zuckerberg complained:

"@cshweitz not sure where you got this photo. I posted it to friends only on FB. You reposting it to Twitter is way uncool."

According to Schweitzer, she obtained the picture because she was suscribed to Randi's feed.

"I'm just your suscriber and this was top of my newsfeed. Genuinely sorry but it came up in my feed and seemed public," she wrote.

Actually, she probably saw it because she is friend with Randi's sister.

"I think you saw it b/c you're friends w/my sister (tagged.) Thx for apology. I'm just sensitive to private photos becoming 'news," Randi wrote.

Facebook's app "Poke" was launched recently to some negative criticism. The application allows users to send photos and videos that self-destruct in a few seconds. The application is being highly compared to a previous app called Snapchat which is also known as a "sexting" app and is mostly popular among teenagers.

Snapchat users are reportedly bashing Facebook's "Poke," according to the Business insider.

Wow Zuckerberg way to rip off snapchat. Be original, you seem to have a habit of stealing other people's ideas," a Snapchat faithful user reportedly commented, according to Business Insider.
