Sandy Hook Victim Hoax; Fake Ryan Lanza Posts "I Am a Victim" on Facebook
A person claiming to be Ryan Lanza, the brother of Sandy Hook shooter Adam, offered his condolences for the people impacted by the tragic incident and called himself a victim.
However, a spokesperson for the Lanza family told The New York Post that the Facebook page being used under Ryan's name is an imposter.
"I am a victim," wrote an imposter of 24-year-old Ryan to The Post on Saturday via Facebook. "I [lost] my mom and brother."
Photos of Ryan's brother Adam and their mother were posted to the social media site on Saturday with the caption: "R.I.P Adam Peter Lanza April 22, 1992- Dec. 14, 2012(20 years old) 'I will miss you bro. I will always love you as long as I live' -Ryan"
The imposter denounced comments made by people online that Adam deserved to "rot in hell."
The Post published an updated message on their story saying: "A spokesman for the Lanza family says an imposter is behind Ryan Lanza's Facebook page and that Ryan did not post the messages in this story."
The Facebook account used as a hoax can be seen HERE.
Adam Lanza shot 26 people, including his mother and 20 children, at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn. on Dec. 14. The incident ended when Adam fatally shot himself.
On the day of the attack news, sources first claimed that Ryan was the alleged shooter. Ryan's picture was taken from a Facebook page seen HERE which was updated with posts from the alleged real brother of the shooter denying his involvement.
A Ryan Lanza from New Jersey posted a message on his Facebook to try and clear his name writing: "Everyone shut the f--- up it wasn't me."
He continued to post online: "IT WASN'T ME I WAS AT WORK IT WASN'T ME."
