Black Mirror Is Coming Back

The cult favorite U.K. anthology series Black Mirror, which explores the effects of current and hypothetical technology and media (often leading to darkly humorous results) will return, but this time on Netflix. The video streaming site announced that it's ordering a 12 episode third season -- almost double the already existing episodes. The show first began airing in the United Kingdom back in 2011, but only made its Netflix debut last year, where it became an international success.

Boehner, Out!



Speaker of the House John Boehner surprised political watchers everywhere with his announcement today that he'll be resigning from office at the end of the next month, vacating both the speakership and his congressional seat. The Ohio Republican, who took over as the presiding officer of the House of Representatives in 2011, has spent pretty much of time in the leadership trying to keep together an increasingly divided Republican party. Most armchair theorists believe that Boehner's plan is to force a government spending bill through the House, over the objections of ultra-conservative members trying to take a stand against Planned Parenthood and possibly create a government shutdown in protest, and leave on his own before those same fellow Republicans could vote him out of the leadership.

Before he was mayor of Sacramento, Kevin Johnson was a star professional basketball player for the Phoenix Suns. And in 1996, a 15-year-old girl accused him of molesting her. The allegations against Johnson, who's finding some new fame thanks to an upcoming documentary about his efforts to keep NBA team the Kings from leaving Sacramento, are back in the public spotlight as that the accuser, who's now in her mid-30s, as come forward in an exclusive profile with Deadspin.

Scientists have unveiled that they've found a way to create tire-grade rubber without vulcanization, the process which makes natural rubber more durable, and thus created a rubber that can heal itself and last longer on the road.
