Arrow executive producer Wendy Mericle dished about a big twist with Ray's (Brandon Routh) return in season 4 to TVLine.

Ray will be alive and his return will really impact Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards), who was most shaken by his supposed death. While she will be getting used to playing the new CEO of Ray Palmer Tech, this will really throw her off. Mericle stated that this will be "a huge emotional reveal, especially for Felicity."

What is more interesting for fans of the show is to see if this will affect Felicity and Oliver's (Stephen Amell) newfound love. Mericle assures fans rooting for Olicity that they needn't worry on that front. "It's more of an emotional reaction to the loss of a friend than any sort of romantic rival. She's very happy with Oliver when we come back in Season 4, but [she and Ray] were friends and they left on good terms. It's more just the relief of, 'Oh my gosh, I thought you were gone and now you're not. How exciting is that?'" she said.

Could Sarab Be Resuscitated In Season 4?

Previously showrunner Marc Guggenheim spoke to TV Insider about Oliver and Felicity's domestic bliss and the fate of their relationship.

Guggenheim was careful not too give any dramatic spoilers away but did state that the duo would be sticking it out as couple for longer than they ever have. He seemed to hint at the promise of longevity for the lovers who were finally united in the season 3 finale.

The showrunner said that their relationship would last "longer than the first episode, which would beat our record!"

He went on to add that they intended to "explore the nature of their relationship as a couple and we have no desire to break them up before [that]...one of the fun parts of the season is the will they stay together or break up."

Season 4 of Arrow will premiere on Oct. 7.
