Rumors about DC superhero Green Lantern joining season 4 of Arrow recently surfaced and now showrunner Marc Guggenheim seems to legitmized them.

ComicBook uncovered Guggenheim's recent post which hinted at the Green Lantern's involvement in the next chapter. Guggenheim posted an image -- a picture of Coast City, which is the home of the Green Lantern -- from the production art for season 4 of Arrow.

But Screen Crush reports that Guggenheim has denied rumors of Oliver (Stephen Amell) encountering Green Lantern on his trips to Coast City.

Starling City To Be Renamed In Season 4

In other recent news, a TVLine report it was revealed that Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy) will be unveiling her alter ego as the Black Canary in the season 4 premiere.

Arrow's co-showrunner Wendy Mericle told the entertainment website that even though there is "no more learning curve" for Laurel, she will face some trouble coming to terms with her new secret identity.

"She has a secret identity; how does she grapple with that? And she's an ADA, so what kind of impact is that going to have on her decisions as Black Canary - and vice versa?" Mericle teased about Laurel's character arc.

In fact TVLine's latest spoiler report also answered questions about Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) getting a new code name in season 4. Mericle was approached to address this fan query about Felicity. Turns out it's not very likely as Mericle suggests that Felicity won't be actively combatting the evil out in the field, so she won't really need to disguise her identity, like perhaps Diggle.

"Dig is out in the field, so there's a necessity for [him to have one]," Mericle said. "But not quite yet for Felicity, although you never know. We all love the idea of her getting her out there more and being a badass. It's just a question of finding the right way to do it."

Season 4 will premiere on Oct. 7 on The CW.
