The annual Rose Bowl parade is nearing and the event is sure to be a great way to usher in the New Year.

With New Year's Day tomorrow comes a new year and the highly anticipated Rose Bowl and parade.

The 124th Tournament of Roses Parade is scheduled to start Tuesday morning at 8 a.m. PST in Pasadena, Calif.

Every year the parade of roses has a theme and this year it is "Oh the Places You'll Go!"

Leading this year's parade as Grand Marshal is Dr. Jane Goodall, founder of the Jane Goodall Institute and UN Messenger of Peace.

"I am honored to be the Grand Marshal for the 2013 Tournament of Roses," said Dr. Jane Goodall to the Tournament of Roses website. "New Year's day symbolizes the opportunity to work toward new goals, experience new beginnings, and make a difference. My dream for this New Year's Day is for everyone to think of the places we can all go if we work together to make our world a better place. Every journey starts with a step and I am pleased to see the Tournament of Roses continue to take steps toward not only celebrating beauty and imagination, but also a cleaner environment."

The route begins with the parade formation at Green Street and Orange Grove Boulevard, south of Colorado Boulevard.

About 39 million people television viewers watched last year's Rose Parade.

This year's parade will be broadcasted live on ABC, Hallmark Channel, HGTV, KTLA (Tribune), NBC, RFD-TV and Univision. A live stream will be provided by KTLA here.
