Will Damian Lewis Be The New James Bond?


According to a report in The Mirror, former Homeland star Damian Lewis has been unofficially tapped to take over the role of 007, should current star Daniel Craig choose to step down. Craig, who plays the British super spy for a fourth time in Spectre, which hits theatres in a little over a month, has expressed an interest in retiring from the role but hasn't said anything officially.

Russia Bombs Syria


THE big story this morning. Russia launched its first series of airstrikes in Syria today. Russian planes bombed the city of Homs just hours after the country's parliament approved the move. Officials in Washington confirmed to The New York Times that America was notified of the airstrikes beforehand. Earlier this week, Russian President Vladimir Putin, while speaking to the United Nations, voiced a strategy of support for Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad, who is fighting various rebel groups including ISIS. Homs is currently not under Assad's control...nor is it held by the infamous Islamic extremist group.

Kim Davis & The Pope


Controversial Kentucky County Clerk Kim Davis apparently met with Pope Francis while he was visiting the United States last week. Davis' lawyer told reports that he and his client were brought to the Vatican embassy in Washington D.C. on Thursday where the Pontiff allegedly gave her a rosary and told her to "stay strong." A Vatican spokesperson later confirmed that the meeting happened.

Rage Against The Machine Member Apologizes for Limp Bizkit


If you at all listened to pop music during the 90s, then you endured the rise and fall of the rap-rock genre. At its critical apex was Rage Against Machine, often seen as one of the founders of the sub-category, while the Fred Durst-fronted group Limp Bizkit was the nadir. And now RATM, or at least its bassist, is apologizing for the latter. In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, founding Rage band member Tim Commerford said "I do apologize for Limp Bizkit. I really do. I feel really bad that we inspired such bullshit."

Georgia Executed Kelly Gissendaner


At 12:21 a.m. the state of Georgia executed Kelly Gissendaner, the first woman put to death by the southern state in 70 years. Gissendaner was convicted in 1997 of arranging the murder of her husband by her boyfriend. She died reportedly singing the song "Amazing Grace".

Man Killed By Hindu Mob For Eating Beef


According to reports, a mob of Hindus in a village in India attacked a Muslim man and his son, eventually beating the man to death. The violence was a sparked by a rumor that someone had killed and slaughtered a calf in the area, which is in violation of the Hindu religion and is illegal in the local region. The mob then targeted the nearest non-Hindu.
