Twins Give Birth the Same Day in Ohio on New Year's Eve
Twin moms in Ohio gave birth to their babies on the same day on Monday.
Moms Ashlee Nelson and Aimee Nelson birthed sons Aiden and Donavyn respectively on New Year's Eve.
The 19-year-old moms delivered their children at the Summa Akron City Hospital together despite their due dates being a week apart.
According to The Akron Beacon Journal , the cousins were born around two hours apart. Donavyn Scott Bratten was born just after noon on the last day of 2012 weighing in at 7 pounds, 2½ ounces and measured 21 inches long. Aiden Lee Alan Dilts made his appearance at about 2 p.m. weighed exactly 8 pounds, 12 ounces and measured 22½ inches long.
Donavyn is the son of mom Aimee Nelson and Matthew Bratten, 20, of Kenmore. Aiden is the son of Ashlee Nelson and Cody Dilts, 22, of Wadsworth.
The newborns' grandmother, Marcella Farson, told the Ohio news website that the children already have Christmas presents waiting.
"They got little outfits, snowsuits, rattles, little toys, and they got their first Hot Wheels cars," said Farson. "They weren't even here yet and they got their first gifts from Santa."
Proud grandma Farson added that both the mothers didn't plan on having the children on the same day, but fate intervened to make the day extra special for the whole family. Both mothers even had similar pregnancies with some of the same patterns.
"Within the past two months, me being the mother, I would get a whiny phone call in the middle of the night on what's going on and I would hang the phone up and literally five minutes later I would have the other one crying," Farson explained.
Both children were delivered without complications by Dr. Laura Schnegg.
