The holiday shopping season is rapidly approaching, and several major retailers are already making plans to roll out Black Friday deals the earliest they ever have.

Though they aren't yet releasing their specific ads, both Target and Staples have already made huge announcements that are directly related to their plans for the holiday shopping season.

In a press release Thursday, Staples jumped ahead of all their major competitors with a preemptive announcement about their Black Friday plans in regards to store hours, announcing they would be closed Thanksgiving Day, but would open at 6 a.m. on Black Friday itself to give shoppers access to the deals they would be offering.

The move actually is a step back from their store hours in 2014, when they initially opened at 6 p.m. Thanksgiving Night and remained open until 10 p.m.

"We want our customers and associates to enjoy Thanksgiving their own way," the company's North American stores and online President Demos Parneros said. "On Thanksgiving Day, customers can shop from home on Staples.com and then continue their shopping in stores starting at 6 a.m. on Black Friday. Whether our customers like the convenience of shopping online, in our stores or a combination of both, Staples will have amazing products at great prices throughout the holiday season."

However, Black Friday won't be the first time Staples begins slashing prices on their merchandise, as the company plans to offer big savings on an assortment of tech devices and other products beginning in early November.

Meanwhile, Target has expanded their year-round price matching policy just in time for the start of the holiday shopping season, promising shoppers they would not offer price-matching policies opposite 29 other retailers, instead of their usual five.

The updated policy, which went into effect Oct. 1, would allow those in store to compare prices on other company's websites and use them for a price match.

The retailers they are now offering price matching policies for are Amazon, Babies R Us, Bed Bath and Beyond, Best Buy, BN.com, Buy Buy Baby, Costco, CVS, DIapers.com, Dick's Sporting Goods, Drugstore.com, Game Stop, JCPenney, Kmart, Kohls, Macy's, Newegg.com, Office Depot, Petco, Petsmart, Sam's Club, Sears, Sports Authority, Staples, Toys R Us, Ulta, Walgreens, Walmart and Wayfair.com.
