News Corp. CEO Rupert Murdoch found himself in some hot water following a tweet supporting Republican presidential hopeful Ben Carson this week.

In his tweet, Murdoch praises Carson, but appears to insult current President Barack Obama, by insinuating he is either not really black or not really president.

And after intense response to the comment, he later apologized for the remark, saying he did respect both men.

But unfortunately for Murdoch, the damage appears to be too much to take back, as the backlash has continued online over his comments, with many criticizing him and his network (News Corp. owns Fox News which isn't exactly known for being a big fan of President Obama) for being racist.

Others took to Twitter to question if Murdoch's comment meant that they and President Obama had to check in with him to authenticate whether they were "black enough" for him:
