Matt Barnes, Derek Fisher Fight 2015: NBA Player Admits He 'Spit In [Gloria Govan's] Face' After Beating Fisher's 'A**' [VIDEO]
More details are coming out about Matt Barnes’ rage against his former Los Angeles Lakers teammate Derek Fisher over his estranged wife Gloria Govan and now it looks like Govan was assaulted by Barnes a well.
Barnes told a friend via text that he also “spit in [Govan]’s face” after he beat up Fisher. The whole thing began after Govan and Barnes’, who are going through a divorce, 6-year-old twin boys, Carter and Isaiah gave him and call and told him that Fisher was at their home. Barnes then drove nearly 100 miles only to find Govan, Fisher and ten others enjoying a bonfire in they backyard, insiders told the New York Post Wednesday.
The brawl broke out just before midnight and even resulted in police being called to the residence. Fisher left the scene before they arrived.
Barnes gave the details of the fight to a friend when he text them, “I kicked his a** from the back yard to the front room, and spit in her face.”
A separate source on Fisher’s side did say that the fight actually happened.
“Matt came after Derek, but he only had a few scratches.”
Apparently it wasn’t enough for Fisher to take legal action.
“Derek’s not going to press charges; he’s going to let it go,” the source said.
While Barnes and Govan are staying quiet, Fisher did have a few things to say.
“My state of mind— like I talked to the guys a few minutes ago— is personal, and private matters are personal and private. I’ve been through a lot in life. Sometimes, we go through things we can’t or can control. ‘m here. I’m focused. It’s not something that’s going to take me away from what we’re trying to do.”
As for Fisher’s love life, he filed for a divorce from his wife Candance earlier this year. She said she was completely “blindsided” and even found out that he had moved his things into his own New York apartment.
