The 2013 Consumer Electronics Show kicked off on Monday with presentations by some of the top tech companies on the market today.

Thousands of people and companies are taking part in one of the largest technology trade shows at the Las Vegas convention center to discuss everything from televisions, automobiles, games, and mobile devices.

One of the big announcements came from AT&T who stated they have partnered with Cisco Systems to create a Digital Life home monitoring service that will appear in eight U.S. markets in March, according to Zdnet.com.

The new system will offer subscriptions with protection from burglars to water leaks as well as services for remote energy conservation.

The company is working toward expanding its wireless services beyond phones.

AT&T's new service will also include a "Digital Doorman" with a touchscreen doorknob that operates using a PIN number, according to USA Today. People who subscribe to the service can have webcams installed around their house with thermostat readings as well.

The service will work on smartphones from rival services as well as devices connected to the AT&T network.

Another big announcement came from Samsung who will introduce a new 55-inch OLED multi-view television, according to The Los Angeles Times. The tech company also plans on releasing a giant 85-inch ultra-thin high-definition television with speakers embedded into the screen. Consumers will also be able to purchase an Evolution Kit that will create a smart hub revolved around the Samsung television and media center.

The electronics show continues today with the "The Post-Mobile Future: Mapping the Next Frontier of Consumer Electronics" panel discussion on the future of devices and popular services.

The panel discussion for tomorrow begins at 3:00 p.m. with "The Next Interface: You" with a discussion on the promise and potential pitfalls of the human body as an interface.

The show will end with the official "Best of CES" Awards Winners awards at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday. The awards recognize the most buzz-worthy and innovative products at the show.
