It might have been Ciara's big birthday this past weekend, but it looks like Beyonce managed to grab all the headlines away from her. There are several reports that say Beyonce basically stole the show (and Ciara's thunder) as she dressed up as Storm for her birthday.

According to People Magazine on Sunday, fans couldn't help but gush about Beyonce's costume from the hit X-Men series as she apparently nailed every detail of the look. Ciara, meanwhile, dressed up as Catwoman and her boyfriend, Seattle Superhawks star Russell Wilson dressed up as Batman.

"I met Beyoncé tonight and she couldn't have been more sweet. And shares my love of costumes," comedian Jeff Dye posted on Instagram of the two together.

Meanwhile, critics can't help but wonder what Beyonce's motive behind the elaborate costume was, as many people think the chart topper might have some sort of agenda here.

A few commenters wrote, "How does Ciara's birthday party become a Beyonce story?" along with, "Have to admit, Beyonce looks amazing and awesome in her costume, but Ciara and Russell in that Batmobile transcended all else!"

Another critic wrote, "Is it a coincidence that Beyonce's PR team has gone into overdrive now that Adele has stormed back onto the scene? She sure is looking for attention all of a sudden."
