Katt Williams Sued; Car Dealer Accuses Comedian on Not Paying for Used Vehicle
Comedian Katt Williams is being sued for taking a used car that he refused to have paid for.
The suit was filed by Khosrow Gharib, a Los Angeles car salesman, who alleges that he sold Williams a used 2002 Ford Expedition SUV on Oct. 30 2012 and that the comedian did not pay.
Gharib is suing Williams for $7,500, apparently the Kelley Blue Book value of the Expedition. He also claimed that he has spent a significant amount of time trying to get Williams to pay, according to TMZ
The recent lawsuit was only a part of the troubled comedian's legal problems.
Williams was arrested on Jan. 8 for failing to appear in court.
A Sacramento Judge issued a bench warrant for Williams' arrest on Tuesday at the arraignment hearing where Katt was facing charges of reckless driving and evading a police officer, both felonies under California Law, according to another TMZ report.
Katt was arrested back in November when he drove a three-wheeled motorcycle on the wrong side of the road in Sacramento. He allegedly came close to hitting five pedestrians during the bizarre joyride.
The Los Angeles Police Department was aware of Katt's bench warrant and when police spotted him outside his home, they placed him under arrest. Law enforcement sources are saying that Katt fully cooperated with police.
He posted $100,500 in bail on Sunday afternoon after spending the previous night in the Yolo County Jail.
The comedian was also arrested on Dec. 28 for child endangerment. A police raid found a large amount of illegal drugs and guns, and the actor's four children were taken away.
"How do you keep kids safe without guns?" Williams asked TMZ when he was questioned about the arrest. "If the police come in and raid my place and break into my gun boxes, you're gonna find guns! I'm not in a gang -- what difference does it make?"
