'Law and Order SVU' Season 17 News: Showrunner Mourns Death Of Fred Thompson
The death of Fred Thompson is being mourned by the Law & Order: SVU team.
Thompson who was a longtime actor on the NBC procedural before becoming a Republican U.S. senator from Tennessee. Law & Order showrunner, Dick Wolf, expressed his remorse in a statement to The Wrap:
"Fred was one of the only people that I've met who was truly a renaissance man. Prosecutor, politician, actor, raconteur - no matter what he did, he did it incredibly well. And he was simply a great guy. He will be missed by all those whose lives he touched."

Thompson played Manhattan district attorney Arthur Branch from 2002 to 2007 in Law & Order: SVU.
The upcoming episode of Law & Order: SVU, titled 'Patrimonial Instincts,' will be inspired by the Duggar controversy. In the preview, a family much like the Duggars in their reality television show 19 Kids and Counting is portrayed. The story seems to be slightly different in that one of the daughters is knocked up, whereas in the real case Josh Duggar was accused to molesting five of his sisters when he was a teenager.
This episode of Season 17 of Law & Order: SVU will air on Nov. 4 at 9 p.m. (ET) on NBC.
