Controversial baseball player Barry Bonds is selling his Beverly Hills, Calif., mansion for $25 million.

The 48-year-old former outfielder put the listing up recently for the 1.85-acre property with an enormous 17,100-square-foot mansion using Mauricio Umansky's real estate services, according to The Wall Street Journal.

"Extraordinary luxury living with the utmost in privacy, this grand scale, yet elegant, Italian villa estate, serves equally to entertain heads of state, host charitable events or just be at home with family," the agency described the mansion in the listing.

Umansky is head of The Agency and had made his own appearances on Bravo TV's "The Real Housewives of Beverley Hills." He is the husband of the reality show's cast member Kyle Richards.

The company added, "Once within the property's gates, you are transported to another world; one of serenity and privacy and away from the hustle bustle of the city which lies just minutes below."

The former San Francisco Giants star's estate comes with seven-bedrooms, 13-bathroom home, and boasts a music room, theater, wine room, gym, spa and elevator. There's also a pool, a basketball court, a guesthouse and a six-car garage. The colossal estate also comes with "smart home" technology, which means that comfort is just an iPad tap away.

Bonds stands to gain significantly more than he paid for it originally. He purchased the property back in 2002 for $8.7 million and has since expanded the side of the home by more than 5,500 square feet.

The big profit gain may lift Bonds' spirits following his recent bad news.

Bonds is due in court in less than a month to appeal his obstruction of justice conviction from his doping trial. He was sentenced to 30 days of house arrest, which has been stayed pending his appeal.

The record-setting MVP was also denied entry to the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame last week due to allegations of using steroids, according to Forbes magazine.
