Ozzy Osbourne Injured in House Fire: Bleeding Hand Receives Medical Attention & Hair Caught on Fire
Rocker Ozzy Osbourne injured his hand Wednesday night while trying to control a blaze that started in his Beverly Hills, Calif., home while he and his wife, Sharon were asleep.
Ozzy had his arm bandaged up on Wednesday following a hand surgery he had earlier that day. Then on Thursday morning he required medical attention after singeing his hair and injuring his hand trying to stop a fire caused by a candle Ozzy and Sharon left burning before going to bed, according to MSN.
The candle exploded in its glass vase and sparked a small blaze in their living room. Ozzy tried to air the room as Sharon ran to get water but the flames spread, singeing parts of the rocker's long hair in the process.
Firefighters were called to the scene and quickly put out the fire.
Sharon spoke about the fire on her show "The Talk" Thursday and described the extend of Ozzy's injuries, with his hand beginning to bleed and "the whole nine yards." She relayed details about when her and her husband went downstairs from their bedroom to the living room and discovered the fire.
"My husband had an operation on his hand yesterday, so he's in a complete cast. ... He comes down and goes, 'Oh the fire, the fire,' (and tries to put it out) with his hand in the cast," she said. "Then he opens the French doors and I go into the kitchen and throw water on it, and it erupted. ... Ozzy's front of his hair from (his ear down is), gone! His eyebrows (are gone). ... He's got like, skinned cheeks."
Sharon ended off by apologizing to Ozzy and vowing to never to light another candle in their house. She said the following:
"They (the firemen) come up, they give us a lecture, and Ozzy's like, 'She's been doing this to me for 32 years! You tell her, you tell her, no more candles!' I apologize to my husband because he put himself out."
