New Zealand hasn't had the greatest string of success as of late. The team is coming off a 2-0 test series defeat and will also be without the services of its four best players.

In the first of a three-match series, the Black Caps will aim to change their luck when they face off against South Africa at Paarl.

However, Zew Zealand will have to do it in the wake of another scandal, which has ignited back home. Proceeding a leaked letter from bowling coach Shane Bond to New Zealand Cricket, Taylor-gate has been rehashed.

Nonetheless, the New Zealand squad will take on No. 1-ranked South Africa, who are eight spots higher than them.

Despite being the underdog, the Black Caps' Kyle Millis still feels confident in his team's chances as long as they can play at their best.

"Look, we're under no illusions that this is going to be a tough task over here," he said, according to Stuff.

Fortunately for New Zealand, South Africa will be giving star player Jacques Kallis a rest for the game.
