They're usually the first place several Black Friday shoppers head to get the best deals, but Walmart may be surprising their customers with a big change from their sales and offers over the past few years.

Best Buy Beginning Black Friday Sales At 5 p.m. Thanksgiving Night

In a surprise change, the company has decided this year to do away with their three-sales events, which staggered deals over the course of Thanksgiving Night and Black Friday morning, something that the company started when they began opening on Thanksgiving Night in 2011. As sale start times got progressively earlier, the company continued to stagger their sales, with 2014 even seeing specific sales at 6 p.m., 8 p.m. and 6 a.m.

However, their 2015 ad shows the company returning to the idea of a one-time start for sales, with everything officially being offered beginning at 6 p.m. Thanksgiving Night.

It's notable that the company suffered backlash after an employee at their Valley Stream, N.Y. store was trampled to death by a horde of shoppers back in 2008.

In addition to the change in sale start times, the company appears to have mostly done away with their gift card offers as well on hot electronics, another shocking change from years past, which saw gift card offers attached to sale iPads, occasionally TVS, and other items throughout the store. This year's ad only sees gift card offers attached to sales on iPhone and Samsung phone activations, which each have a $100 gift card offer attached to them.
