Bode Miller Paternity Suits Shadow News of Wife Morgan Beck's Miscarriage
Olympic skier and gold medal winner Bode Miller is listed under two paternity suits to establish custody with two separate women while he faced the news with his wife Morgan Beck that they lost their unborn baby.
Miller and his volleyball player wife made the big announcement on Saturday with a message on Beck's Twitter about the bad news which read, "Pretty hard morning. We lost the baby. Broken hearted but getting through it together."
Miller met Beck in May and married her five months later in a private ceremony on his boat in San Diego in October. They announced her pregnancy on Christmas Day.
The news was hard for Miller, who has two paternity suits filed to get custody of his alleged children from two separate women, according to TMZ.
One of the suits involves a woman named Sara McKenna, who is currently pregnant and due in February. Miller is seeking joint legal and physical custody of the soon-to-be-born boy.
Apparently Miller was trying to distance himself from McKenna while he was with Beck.
On her Twitter account, McKenna claims that Miller wouldn't acknowledge his child. The same day that Miller announced on his Twitter account that he was engaged to Morgan, McKenna posted a sonogram of her baby and included Miller in her tweet, according to The Daily Mail.
The other suit involves a woman named Chanel Johnson, who has a 4-year-old daughter. Miller claims to be the father and is hoping to establish joint and physical custody, as well as child support payments.
Miller's legal and family troubles are also added to a knee injury that has cost him time on the slopes.
His knee first bothered him last winter when he was competing on an icy hill in Sochi, Russia, during a test race for the 2014 Olympics after having knee surgery.
He plans to return to competition following the knee injury in time to represent the U.S. at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics but he will not participate in portions of the upcoming World Cup, according to The Associated Press.
Miller is a five-time Olympic medalist and won the World Cup in 2005 and 2008.
