Restitution request against Dr. Conrad Murray dropped
Dr. Murray will at least get one of his requests filled.
After Murray was convicted of involuntary manslaughter and sentenced to four years in prison for the death of Michael Jackson, prosecutors also went after Murray for $100 million in restitution for Jackson’s family. But, now the prosecution has dropped the restitution demands.
A court spokesman confirmed to CNN Thursday that they had dropped the request.
Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney David Walgren told the court Wednesday he was ending the restitution request after speaking with Jackson's parents and lawyers for his estate.
In California families can be awarded restitution. The restitution was to be awarded to Jackson’s children and parents to compensate for the loss of income from the This Is It tour.
Jackson passed away on June 25, 2009 at his home, two weeks before the tour was scheduled to begin.
