Tomb Raider 2013 Release Date Mar. 5; Multiplayer Achievements List Unveiled
The latest game of the Tomb Raider franchise will be a reboot of the series and is just over a month from release.
Fans are getting ready with new previews by Square Enix, who announced that this year's game will be the first multiplayer Tomb Raider.
The gameplay was first previewed at the E3 conference in 2011 and showed to have complex puzzles and adrenaline filled encounters. The official trailer for Tomb Raider was released at the event and posted on YouTube.
The game features the classic character Lara Croft, an archeologist and adventurer, in a new storyline that was created by developer Crystal Dynamics.
The story begins with Croft surviving a dramatic storm while on her research ship, the Endurance. The ship is torn apart, her team of researchers are lost and she is kidnapped by an insane inhabitant of a tropical island, according to GameRanx.
The achievements list for the Xbox 360 was released by Xbox360 Achievements and is rumored to mirror the same list for the PlayStation 3. The list showed that there will be 250 points available for gamers to earn in the multiplayer mode.
Potentially the most daunting one is the "True Commitment" award for 30G, which requires a player to hit level 60 during online play. Depending on how steep the leveling curve is and how enjoyable the multiplayer ends up being, this could be a fairly grim task to try and complete.
Other multiplayer achievements mentioned include winning matches in every mode, getting hands on all upgrades and characters, reviving team mates and being the sole survivor at the end of a match.
While the game's single-player is being handled by Crystal Dynamics, the multiplayer is the responsibility of Eidos Montreal.
The Tomb Raider multiplayer reboot will be released on March 5.
