WWE Royal Rumble 2013: Live Stream, Watch Online At 8 PM ET
On Sunday night at the US Airways Center in Phoenix, Az., the WWE will host one of their biggest events of the year, the "Royal Rumble". The three-hour pay-per-view spectacular will begin the road to the grandest stage of them all, "Wrestlemania."
In a pre-show match that can be viewed on YouTube at 7:30 p.m. EST prior to the pay-per-view, The Miz will challenge Antonio Cesaro for the U.S. championship belt. It will be interesting to see if the WWE gives the Awesome One another U.S. title run, as they've seemingly began to push the current baby face as the second coming of the legendary Ric Flair.
However, Cesaro is considered a rising star by WWE brass and it's highly unlikely that they would take the belt off the European sensation just yet.
In tag team competition, Team Hell No (Kane and Daniel Bryan) will defend their tag team titles against Team Rhodes Scholars (Damien Sandow and Cody Rhodes).
Although Bryan and Kane have done a phenomenal job in bringing much-needed attention back to the tag team division, it may be appropriate for them to lose the belts to Sandow and Rhodes, which may serve to strengthen the feud between the two talented tandems.
For a heavyweight title shot at "Wrestlemania XXIX," thirty men will compete in an over-the- top Royal Rumble. While the event will feature a plethora of talents such as Sheamus and Randy Orton, many are predicting that John Cena will indeed prevail. Nonetheless, it still remains to be seen what direction the WWE creative department will end taking this one in.
While the Rumble will indeed draw a large interest, most will be tuning in to watch the return of The Rock, as he takes on the self-proclaimed "Best In The World" CM Punk for the WWE Heavyweight title.
While Punk has done a brilliant job garnering heel heat as of late, a victory by the People's Champ could very well lead to a Cena versus Rock rematch for the title at the upcoming Wrestlemania.
For such a scenario to play out, Cena would have to prevail in the Rumble and the WWE brass would have to be will to put a stop to Punk's historical title run, which now extends well over 400 days.
