The Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini is now available in the United Kingdom along with a Near Field Communication (NFC) version set to launch at the end of January.

A deal through TalkMobile allows U.K. users to get the small smartphone for £15 per month on a two-year contract.

ITProPortal reported that the plan is not packed with special features but comes with 50 minutes, 200 texts and 100MB data.

The miniature phone comes with a dual-core ST Ericsson Novathor U8500 SoC clocked at 1GHz, 1GB of RAM, 8GB onboard storage with a microSD card slot, a 4in Super AMOLED display with a 800 x 480 pixels resolution and a 5-megapixel camera.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini also comes pre-loaded with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and is currently selling in the U.K. for around £290, according to Wired Magazine.

Samsung also announced that an NFC technology version of the Galaxy S3 Mini is also due to be released in the U.K. at the end of January, according to SlashGear.

NFC is a standard for low-speed wireless short range communications between electronic devices. Popular applications of NFC are public transportation passes and some form of electronic wallet, but many more applications remains to be tested and implemented.

This altered version of the third-generation Galaxy S phone will add support for abilities such as Samsung's S Beam, which combines NFC with WiFi-Direct for faster data transfers. The S Beam can generate a Wi-Fi-Direct connection between the smartphone and another compatible device, which allows for a speedy transfer of music, videos and other types of media content.

Samsung launched the Galaxy S3 Mini last October and users in the U.S. are missing out on getting their hands on the phone due to a legal dispute between the South Korean tech giant and Apple, according to Reuters.
