Super Bowl 50 Halftime: Coldplay To Take The Stage? [VIDEO]
The Super Bowl 50 halftime show is ready to take music fans to par-par-paradise.
The NFL has yet to decide who will play in the 2016 Super Bowl, but negotiations are well underway for the famed halftime extravaganza. Reportedly, one of this year's performers will be British alternative outfit Coldplay, according to USA Today.
Comprised of Chris Martin (piano/vocals), Guy Berryman (bass), Jonny Buckland (guitar), and Will Champion (drums), the group is primed to celebrate their 20 th anniversary in 2016. Despite their long reign and Top 40 popularity, there are already some sites calling their booking a mistake.
The group will take the stage in the wake of last year's performance from Katy Perry, Lenny Kravitz, and Missy Elliot. Previous acts include Bruno Mars, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Beyonce, Madonna, Nicki Minaj, and the Black Eyed Peas.
The news dropped barely 24 hours ahead of the debut of the band's latest album, A Head Full of Dreams.
Super Bowl 50 will take place Feb. 7 at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif.
