Pre-orders started for Resident Evil: Revelations on Wii U ahead of the North American game release on May 21.

The pre-order listing is available on Amazon for the re-mastered version of the Resident Evil game with the purchase price of $49.99.

This version of the 3DS survival/horror game will feature high-definition graphics and a number of other features to its cooperative Raid Mode.

The game will be available also for Xbox 360, PS3, and a PC version will be released later on at an unspecified date.

The latest trailer for the Wii U version of the game was released on Jan. 23 and teases players with a glimpse of what to expect when exploring the Queen Zenobia ship as well as a peek at a never before seen monster.

While fans of the series are eagerly awaiting the next installment, they may also be a little nervous to see if the Resident Evil: Revelations reboot will be a flop.

Resident Evil 6 was released last October to somewhat disappointing reviews by fans, according to MetroBlogs.

However, Capcom is trying to rectify the situation as game producer Masachika Kawata said that the company is going to closely monitor the feedback of the game by fans.

"I think we'll get a lot of input from the fanbase and the media on what it means for Resident Evil, and what it could mean for the future of the series," Kawata said to EuroGamer. "We'll definitely be looking at that as a signpost for where we need to be going next."

The original Resident Evil: Revelations came out last February on the 3DS. The game returned the series gameplay to a more classic, lonely experience and followed the exploits of original series stars Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine.

The new Resident Evil: Revelations is set for release in North America on May 21 in North American and May 24 in Europe.
