Joe Flacco Corvette Stingray: Red 2014 Model Has Most Of The World In Awe, Details [Photo]
While the Tiffany-style Pete Rozelle MVP Trophy will surely look nice on a fancy shelf, Baltimore Ravens' quarterback Joe Flacco more than likely prefers his brand new bright red 2014 Corvette Stingray.
Staying true to its tradition, the NFL gave the Super Bowl's most valuable player a car. However, the vehicle was clearly not just any ride, but one of the first of its kind.
USA Today reports that Flacco became one of the first people to claim ownership of the recently released sports, as it just starred in last month's North American International Auto Show.
Flacco's newest set of wheels most certainly has most of the world foaming from the mouth, as it's equipped with super-performance -- 450 horsepower, along with zero to 60 mph acceleration in a mere four seconds.
The Corvette comes to the star quarterback from Banner Chevrolet, a dealership that was completely destroyed when 2005s Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans. The auto company was said to have lost 650 new vehicles and its entire used-car inventory.
"Banner Chevrolet and the entire city of New Orleans have been through so much since the storm, we felt this was a small gesture to bring the comeback story full circle," said Alan Batey, a GM vice president, via statement.
"With the Super Bowl in his backyard, we couldn't think of a better guy to have the honor of awarding the MVP with his Corvette Stingray," he added.
Banner Chevrolet recorded one of the largest losses ever in the United States, but recently completed a large multimillion-dollar renovation with state-of-the-art technology. Banner is the lone Chevrolet dealer in Orleans Parrish.
In other news surrounding Flacco, the site also reported on Monday that the star player secretly broke the news to his parents that he and his wife Dana are expecting their second child.
Karen Flacco, the mother of the Ravens' quarterback, commented on her son's impending fatherhood.
"He's hit the trifecta. Somebody asks me if Joe was going to go win the lottery tonight. I said, 'He already has.'"
