The first trailer for Whiskey Tango Foxtrot was released Thursday, with Fey in the lead role as a war correspondent who decides to leave behind her boring life in America to report on the ground in the war in Afghanistan and Pakistan. There, she is met with fellow journalists, two of which are played by Margot Robbie and Martin Freeman.
The film casts Fey in a different light as an action-comedy star, a role we haven't really seen her in since 2010's Date Night.
Whiskey Tango Foxtrot is based on the memoir The Taliban Shuffle: Strange Days in Afghanistan and Pakistan, written by Kim Barker (who Fey plays in the film).
Fey currently has a new movie coming out on Dec. 18 called Sisters, also starring her frequent co-star and comedic collaborator Amy Poehler. The movie is going up against the blockbuster behemoth that is Star Wars: The Force Awakens, so it may not be a huge hit, though it does provide a comedic alternative for those uninterested in the sci-fi franchise.
Whiskey Tango Foxtrot will be released in theaters on March 4, 2016.
