Rumors suggest Microsoft's Xbox 720 may feature a voice control feature similar to Apple's Siri.

Sources close to the next-generation console's development told The Verge that the Xbox 720 will have a variety of speech-related features.

One of the alleged features is a "wake on voice" command which would activate the system upon hearing the user say "Wake up, Xbox."

Users may also be able to automatically pick up video files where they left off by simply asking the console to play a film. There also may be a speech-to-text feature where users can send each other voice messages directly over the Xbox.

The voice recognition for Xbox 720 will also have the ability to interpret natural language in the same way that Apple developed Siri which serves mainly as an intelligent personal assistant.

Siri is featured on iOS devices such as iPhone 4s, iPhone 5, iPad Mini, the iPad 4 and 3, and new iPod touches.

Apple's voice assistant only works with an internet connection which may support the recent rumor that Xbox 720 will require a similar connection for use that may be resulted from the possible voice control feature, according to The Edge.

One of the other latest rumors is that the Xbox 720 will allegedly block the use of used games.

Users will either have to download a game straight to the console or buy discs that will have the necessary one-time use activation code. Once the code is initially used by the initial gamer, the disc will reportedly no longer work if it becomes a used game for another player. The next-gen console may also block the use of Xbox 360 titles, according to RedOrbit.

The rumored specs for the console, codenamed Durango, were reported by VGLeaks which has the Xbox 720 featuring an 8 core CPU running at 1.6GHz, 8GB of RAM, an 800 MHz graphics card, 50GB Blu-ray disc drive and feature Gigabit Ethernet.

It is still unknown when Microsoft will unveil the next-gen console.

Rumors that the company may hold an "Apple-style press conference" at the Game Developers Conference that will take place March 25-29 were reported by VideoGamer.com.

The Xbox 720 may also be released at the E3 tech and gaming expo that will take place in Los Angeles on June 11.
