A new petition was started on Feb. 7 by eager gamers to have Rockstar release a PC version of Grand Theft Auto 5 (GTA 5).

More than 150,000 supporters have signed the online petition which prompted a new goal of 200,000 signatures, according to a report by Explosion.

Rockstar has previously released the PC version of other games in the GTA series late, but now fans are trying to make the company reconsider. Whether or not the company will take the petition seriously is not known.

Although GTA 5 has not yet been officially announced for the PC, some online retailer recently listed a PC version of the open-world action-adventure title.

Amazon's French website listed pre-orders for a PC version of GTA 5 without an official confirmation from Rockstar. The current price for the alleged PC title pre-order is 49.99 Euros.

Rockstar vice president Dan Houser was interviewed by IGN and asked if PC and Wii U versions of GTA 5 would be available.

"Everything else is up for consideration. That's all I can give you," said Houser.

The latest game in the GTA series has only been confirmed for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 with a delayed release date of Sept. 17.

The production delay sparked conspiracy theories of exactly why gamers would have to wait for GTA 5 to hit store shelves.

One of the theories stated that Rockstar pushed back the release date in order to work on a GTA 5 title for Sony's PlayStation 4 and the Xbox 720 by Microsoft.

However, the conspiracy theories were denied by Rockstar in an official statement: "To those of you saying or seeing various conspiracy theories about there being some other ulterior motive for this delay, rest assured that they're all nonsense - literally the only reason we've delayed the release is because we want the game to be as good as it needs to be."
