Google Nexus 4 Wireless Charging Orb Now Available; Best Deals from T-Mobile, Best Buy & More
The new Wireless Charging Orb for the Nexus 4 is now available in the Google Play store.
The accessory comes with the hefty price tag of $60 and is supposed to ship in less than a week.
The high price for the accessory is likely due to the fashionable nature of the device as it hides the visible cables that often clutter desktops, according to CNET.
The charger ships with a micro USB cable and takes around four hours to charge the smartphone from empty to full. It weighs 130 grams and props up the Nexus 4 at an angle to provide easy viewing.
The Nexus 4 has a dock mode when used with the Wireless Charging Orb, which displays photos, Currents articles and the battery charge level.
With the quick sell of the initial release of the phone, it is more than likely that the charging device may sell out as well. The Nexus 4 has been around for a few months now and has be restocked everywhere after massive supply shortages around the world.
T-Mobile started selling Google's new phone in January and now has the 16GB version for $49 after a web-only discount and mail-in rebate. The deal by T-Moblie expires on Feb. 18 and requires that new customers need sign a two-year contract before they can take advantage of the price.
Google Play store has the Nexus 4 priced at $299 for the 8GB model and $349 for the 16GB version. The online retailer currently has the smartphone shipping dates listed at around one to two weeks.
Wirefly sells the device at $150 with a two-year contract and the Nexus 4 is also at Best Buy Mobile for $200 with a two-year agreement.
The Nexus 4 comes with a 4.7 inch 1280 x 768 IPS display, a 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, an upgraded 8 megapixel camera on the back and a 1.3 megapixel camera on the front. The device also has gesture typing, wireless video and new photo features. The Nexus 4 will ship with the Android 4.2 operating system.
