On Wednesday, Shakhtar Donetsk will host last year's Bundesliga championship team, Borussia Dortmund in the first leg of what should be an exciting Champions League football matchup.

Shakhtar shocked many people by finished in second place in the Group E standings, just behind Serie A champions, Juventus. However, more of a surprise was the fact that they ended up ahead of last season's Champions League crown holders, Chelsea, ultimately sending the Blues down to the Europa League.

Since advancing into the knockout rounds, Shakhtar sold off Willian to the Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala, who was considered their best player. Nonetheless, the club has still seems to playing in solid form, prevailing in five of its last six games in Ukraine's Premier League.

On the Borussia Dortmund side, the team was victorious in Group D, which was coined The Group of Death, as it featured the German champions, Premier League titleholders Manchester City, and La Liga champions Real Madrid.

Jurgen Klopp was able to lead his team to two victories and two draws over four matchups versus Manchester City and Real Madrid, which told the rest of the competition that Bayern Munich wasn't the only club to be reckoned with in Germany.

Dortmund is coming off an embarrassing 4-1 defeat at the hands of Hamburger SV at home, but managed to take full points from four of its last six Bundesliga games.

The current matchup will bring together a strong attack on both sides of the football field with Shakhtar featuring Douglas Costa, Alex Teixeira and Luiz Adriano while Dortmund will has Mario Gotze, Marco Reus, and Robert Lewandowski.
