Dakota Johnson might be the daughter of the Hollywood stars, but her life isn't as easy as you would think it to be. In fact, the 50 Shades of Grey star opens up about following in her parents' footsteps and how she feels the industry is "f***ing brutal."

Dakota Johnson Is The Fashion World's New Muse

According to Xpose on Monday, Dakota, who is the daughter of actors Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson, says that Hollywood isn't a place for a lot of females in the business, considering that her own 58-year-old mother hasn't had stable work in years.

She said, "Why isn't my mother in movies? She's an extraordinary actress! Why isn't my grandmother in movies? This industry is f***ing brutal."

The 50 Shades of Grey star also says that despite her mother and grandmother's struggles on the big screen, she's determined to not let the same thing happen to her.

''No matter how tough you are, sometimes there's the feeling of not being wanted. It's absurd and cutthroat. Whenever I have downtime, I'm unsure that I will ever work again. I don't know what it is, but it's a definite thing that happens to me.''

As far as her big screen hit from last year, Dakota explained, "I'm proud of 'Fifty Shades of Grey'. I don't need to distance myself from that. The more work I do, the more the general public sees the different things I can do. Do I think it opened doors? Yeah. More people know my name.''
