The 2016 Oscar nominations are being announced live on all the broadcast morning shows, as per tradition. Academy President Cheryl Boone Isaacs will be on hand to announce nominations, alongside actor John Krasinski and directors Guillermo del Toro and Ang Lee.
The first part of the nominations announcement starts at 8:30 a.m. ET / 5:30 a.m. PT. Lee and del Toro are announcing the nominations for Animated Feature Film, Cinematography, Costume Design, Documentary Feature, Documentary Short Subject, Makeup and Hairstyling, Original Song, Animated Short Film, Live Action Short Film, Sound Editing and Sound Mixing.
Then, Krasinski and Boone Isaacs will announce the second part of the nominations, beginning at 8:38 a.m. ET / 5:38 a.m. PT. They are announcing Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Directing, Film Editing, Foreign Language Film, Original Score, Production Design, Visual Effects, Adapted Screenplay and Original Screenplay.
Movies expected to wrack up multiple nominations include Spotlight, The Revenant, Mad Max: Fury Road, The Big Short, The Martian and Carol, according to awards experts at GoldDerby.
