iPhone5 vs HTC One Comparison; Can HTC's Android Smartphone Beat Apple's Flagship Device?
HTC unveiled its new HTC One smartphone on Tuesday adding another top phone on the market.
But can the new Android handset compete against Apple's iPhone 5 when it launches in March?
The HTC One leads with a 4.7-inch 1080p HD screen with a whopping 468 pixels per inch (ppi). This is compared to the 4-inch Retina display screen with 326 pixels per inch on the iPhone 5. Both devices have impressive clarity and screen definition, but HTC's device comes out ahead overall with added superiority in touch responsiveness.
The iPhone 5 may win over with its 8MP camera that comes equipped with autofocus, face detection and a panorama mode. The HTC One offers a 4MP camera with UltraPixel technology that uses enhanced imaging sensors to capture 300 percent more light for better pictures, according to The Times of India.
Both phones are able to capture 1080p HD video from front-facing cameras for videos.
One of the biggest points for Apple is the social media integration with the iPhone 5 which helps add to the camera's ability to share images via Facebook and Twitter directly.
The HTC One is a powerful handset with a 1.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon, a 2,300mAh battery in the tank, 2GB of RAM and at least 32GB of storage. Apple's device only packs an A6 processor with a speed of at 1.3GHz, 1G of RAM and a 1440mAh battery.
The iPhone 5 runs iOS 6 with a variety of features that includes built-in Facebook integration, an upgraded Siri personal assistant, VIP Mail, and a revamped App Store. Apple's operating system is a very polished platform that is easy to master and allows access to a variety of top apps.
The HTC One runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and Sense 5. Android is also a good platform that makes it easy to make calls, send messages and download new apps. The new Sense includes a personalized news stream on your home screen called BlinkFeed.
While the iPhone 5 is an impressive handset with top features, HTC's new flagship device dominates on the spec side. The HTC One has better processing speed, display quality, and battery longevity that helps make it a powerful contender in the current smartphone market. Users should snatch up the device when it is officially released in March to AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile.
