Samsung announced this week that it will unveil the new Galaxy S4 at an event in New York City on March 14th.

Samsung tweeted a link on Monday to a press invite for the event with the tag line "Ready 4 the show. Come and meet the new Galaxy."

Samsung Electronics' mobile division chief JK Shin was quoted by The Huffington Post about the new launch saying, "We introduced the Galaxy S III in London last year, and this time we changed the venue (to New York)... as we were bombarded with requests from U.S. mobile carriers to unveil the Galaxy S IV in the country."

The Galaxy S4 will be the company's latest flagship device with enhanced specs to compete on the smartphone market against Apple and HTC.

The current suggested specs for the handset include a boasted 5-inch 1080p display, new Exynos 5 Octa 8-Core processor, 13MP rear camera, a S-Pen in the box and an enhanced Nature UX software skin. It will also come with Android 4.2 pre-loaded onto the device.

The company has yet to officially release images of the new Galaxy S4, but recent leaked pictures of the supposed new case may give users a clue as to the final look of the phone.

The pictures were reported by UK smartphone accessory retailer Mobile Fun that show two Samsung Galaxy S4 cases that appear large enough to accommodate the rumored 4.99-inch Full HD display.

The Galaxy S4 may not be the only device that Samsung plans on unveiling in March.

The company is also rumored to show off the Galaxy S4 Mini and Galaxy Active under the device release codename Project J, according to 3G.

The Galaxy S4 is set to become the latest flagship device from the company while the Galaxy S4 Mini will likely offer a more compact version for a cheaper price tag.

The Galaxy Active appears to be a slightly different device with accessories such as an arm band, bike mount and pouch listed, according to SamMobile.
