The SAG Award is one of the most distinguished honors in Hollywood. The awards are voted on by actors (in addition to television/radio artists) and given exclusively to actors.
It is also an important indicator of where the buzz is in Hollywood regarding the upcoming Oscars. Many actors have won trophies at SAG and gone on to win the Oscar.
The SAG Awards 2015 (they take place in 2016 but award movies and TV from 2015) will air live on TNT and TBS starting at 8/7c. They last for two hours.

In the film categories, Trumbo leads the pack with three nominations - Ensemble, Male Actor for Bryan Cranston and Supporting Female Actor for Helen Mirren. But they are not expected to pick up any of those awards according to prominent awards predicting site GoldDerby. Ensemble is expected to be race between The Big Short and Spotlight, while Male Actor should be an easy win for DiCaprio in The Revenant.
The Supporting Actress field will be one to watch as there's still no clear favorite. Mirren is the only nominee who didn't get an Oscar nomination so she's probably out, but the other four - Rooney Mara in Carol, Rachel McAdams in Spotlight, Alicia Vikander in The Danish Girl and Kate Winslet in Steve Jobs - all have a shot of taking home the trophy.
For the Female Actor category, Larson in Room is the favorite, though Saoirse Ronan in Brooklyn could upset. In Supporting Male Actor, Oscar favorite Sylvester Stallone (in Creed) did not get a nomination, so it's anyone's game. But chances are that Christian Bale in The Big Short and Mark Rylance in Bridge of Spies are the frontrunners for the trophy.
On the TV side, HBO's Game of Thrones has a good chance of winning the Drama Series Ensemble category, while the Comedy Series Ensemble race is a three-way race between Netflix's Orange Is the New Black, Amazon's Transparent and HBO's Veep.
As for other TV winners, you should probably expect actors like Jon Hamm, Viola Davis, Jeffrey Tambor and Julia Louis-Dreyfus up on that stage, barring any huge upsets.
