Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 Verizon Release Date is March 7 with $599 Price Tag
Verizon and Samsung announced on Tuesday that the 10.1-inch Galaxy Note 10.1 will be available starting March 7.
The 4G LTE ready tablet will be priced at $599.99 for the 16GB version and will be available online through Samsung as well as Verizon stores on Thursday, according to PC Magazine.
The new price is compared against the current retail price for the Wi-Fi-only versions of the Galaxy Note 10.1 at $499.99 for 16GB or $549.99 for 32GB, according to CNET.
The tablet was first announced by Verizon Wireless at the Consumer Electronics Show that took place in January where users were able to get a preview of its features.
The device is powered with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and the key specs include 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, up to external 64GB storage, a quad-core 1.4GHz processor, and the 10.1-inch 1280×800 display. The Galaxy Note 10.1 includes the S Pen and a suite of apps with Samsung touches such as AllShare Play, Pop up Play and Group Cast.
Verizon is set to be the first major carrier to offer the device, but it will also come to US Cellular at an unspecified date after the release.
Samsung also recently added a new 8-inch model to the Galaxy Note lineup that was previewed at the Mobile World Congress in February.
The Note 8.0 has an 8-inch display that features a 1280 x 800 pixel resolution. It is powered by a quad-core Samsung Exynos processor clocked at 1.6GHz and paired with 2GB of RAM. The Note 8.0 has 16GB or 32GB's of internal storage with support for microSD cards, and packs a 5-megapixel rear camera with a 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera.
Leaked images of a Charcoal Black model of the Note 8.0 were released by Phone Arena, but Samsung has yet to officially announce that the new color version will be released.
