3 Inmates Escape Missouri Jail, Considered Armed and Dangerous
At around 11:30 p.m. on Monday evening, three inmates escaped from the Butler County Jail in Poplar Bluff, Mo.
According to AP, two of the inmates were murder suspects and all three are considered armed and very dangerous.
The inmates Matthew Brandon Cook, 29, Kade Reaves Stringfellow, 23, and Rodney Joe Green, 40, reportedly escaped through the ceiling. Sheriff Mark Dobbs blamed the inmates' escape on the facility design which does not have walls that extend to the ceiling.
The search for the inmates extended as far a Little Rock, Ark. Local schools were limiting access as a precaution and a Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper said airplanes have aided in the search.
Cook was charged with first-degree murder, robbery and other crimes in February; Stringfellow was charged with second-degree murder in July for the death of his infant son; and Green has multiple charges for breaking in a house and shooting the husband and wife inside (both survived), according to the AP.
Butler County 911 director Frank Casteel said to the AP: "With the severity of their crimes they were being held for, we do believe it's possible they may have the capability to get their hands on weapons."
Cook, Stringfellow and Green were all awaiting trials before escaping.
